DH at EM

Hi, I’m Dorothy.

I’m a Detroit-based writer, editor and cook.

As a third-grade spelling nerd, I took pride in writing sentences to go with the vocabulary words of the week. As a naturally nosy kid, I would write about what I saw around me. On one of my tests, my teacher wrote, "Dorothy, you are a great writer. You should be a journalist." I didn't even know what that was at the time, but ever since that comment written at the top of my spelling test, I have called myself a journalist.

I’m the digital content and communities specialist at WDET 101.9 FM, Detroit’s NPR station. When I am not writing stories or deleting dangling modifiers, you can usually find me in a kitchen working on recipes or dreaming of my next travel adventure.
